Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019 you cannot be charged for viewings, referencing, or renewals. homedrops never charges tenants to search, view, or rent. The only payments you make are rent, a refundable deposit, and a holding deposit that comes off your first payment.
Your tenancy deposit is capped at five weeks’ rent, and your landlord must protect it in a government-approved scheme within 30 days of receiving it, then send you the certificate and prescribed information. You can see which scheme they picked in your tenancy hub, and ask them for the certificate if it hasn’t arrived.
Your landlord is responsible for the structure, heating, water and electrics, and for valid gas, electrical (EICR) and energy (EPC) certificates. Every homedrops listing tracks these documents so you can see the home is compliant before you move in.
